Coming back to university after such a beautiful Edinburgh Summer would normally be a struggle, but with things heating up with Radio ENRG Autumn couldn’t come sooner. This is going to be our third year broadcasting, and we’re expecting it to be the best yet. As always, September has been a frenzy of preparation for the new academic year at the ENRG HQ, and we have some exciting announcements.
Official Term Re-Launch
Radio ENRG will be broadcasting live shows on Mondays & Fridays 9am-6pm this term. For the first time, we will also be streaming music throughout the rest of the week as well. The first official day of broadcasting will be Friday 25 September, followed by our Monday show premières the following week (28 September.)
Obviously there are going to be new shows at the start of a new year, but we truly have some exciting fresh programmes on the way. This will be the first term that we’re starting with a totally chalk-full roster, and we have more journalism students than ever which means more interviews and cutting-edge stories. New additions include; This, Kowalski, Souled Out, Beats N’ Blah, Connect, Friday Night Thrash, The International Show, and many more.
If you are an Edinburgh Napier University student and still interested in joining the ENRG team, fear not! The schedule may be full, but we are always looking for determined correspondents to put radio packages together, collect vox pops, and carry out interviews for us. We always welcome pitches, and ambitious volunteers are given first notice of possible openings in the schedule.
We have also introduced a new role in the Radio ENRG management, a music editor. Now that we’re able to stream music all the time without interruption, having a fresh supply of tunes is more important than ever. Which is why we’re thrilled to announce that stepping up to be Radio ENRG’s first music editor is first-year journalism student, Ali Cox. If you are part of a band or music label and would like to submit music to be played on Radio ENRG – or would like to appear on-air for an interview/acoustic session – email her at MusicEditor@RadioENRG.net.
Edinburgh Napier Undergraduate Open Day 2015
Last year’s ENU Open Day ENRG special broadcast was such a success, we have been invited to do it again. This means another 6 hours of live content streamed across all three campuses. We’ll be bringing you music, games, chat, information about Edinburgh Napier University news, events, & competitions, and live support to help guide you through the day.
If you would like to come chat with us live on-air during the Edinburgh Napier University Undergraduate Open Day special – even just for a peek at the ENRG HQ – you can find us at the Merchiston Campus in room A.57. We will open the doors when the mics are off, so you can pop in to say hello.
Here’s to a great year – and a knock-out round three,
Cassie Burke & Rebecca Barrett (Station Managers)
